Question
If i was hanging out in a park at 9 55 and a cop showed up and gave us a curfew ticket is that right? a cell phone is satellite time is there any way to fight it
Answer
The Phoenix City Code's curfew doesn't mean only the time at night you are allowed out, but the time you are supposed to be home. The activities of children under the age of 18 is regulated at night by City Code 22-1 and 22-2. Youths, age 15 and under must be home between 10 PM and 5 AM and those 16 and 17 years of age must be home between midnight and 5 AM. This means that you are not allowed to be out in public until 9:59:59 pm, but that you must be in your home at 10 pm. If you are at a park at 9:55, then it is reasonable for the officer to cite you for violation of curfew because you are not able to be at home by the curfew time.
