Can a parent tape a session of counseling without the counselor knowing about it?
Answer
Yes. Under Arizona law an individual can record an oral communication, (A.R.S. § 13-3001(8)) if the individual is either a party to the communication (present at the session), (A.R.S. § 13-3005(1)), or has the consent of someone who “is a party to the communication.” (A.R.S. § 13-3012(9)).
